Social Event – Conference Dinner at Casa do Alentejo

Join us for the official S4SN Conference Dinner, which will take place on the evening of September 26th at the iconic Casa do Alentejo, located in the heart of Lisbon.

Housed in a beautiful 17th-century palace, Casa do Alentejo offers a unique atmosphere, combining Moorish-inspired architecture with traditional Portuguese charm. Guests will enjoy a rich and authentic Alentejo culinary experience, accompanied by local wines and great company.

This will be a wonderful opportunity to relax, network with fellow participants, and experience a special piece of Portuguese culture and hospitality.

Getting There:
The Casa do Alentejo is approximately a 20-minute walk from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Alternatively, public transportation options are available:

  • Metro:

    • From São Sebastião (Blue and Red lines), take the Blue Line towards Santa Apolónia and alight at Rossio station. The Casa do Alentejo is a short walk from there.

    • From Praça de Espanha (Blue line), take the Blue Line towards Santa Apolónia and alight at Rossio station.

  • Bus:
    Several bus lines serve the area around Casa do Alentejo. You can use local bus services to reach the venue.

For those interested in discovering more of the city or enjoying a unique cultural or leisure experience, we are pleased to present the following optional suggestions — just a few among the many possibilities Lisbon has to offer.

Guided Visit to the Lisbon Oceanarium

Join us for a guided visit to the Lisbon Oceanarium, one of Lisbon’s most iconic and visited attractions. Located in the contemporary Parque das Nações district, the Oceanarium is internationally recognized for its marine biodiversity exhibits and conservation efforts.

Participants will enjoy an English-language tour through the different ocean habitats and species, guided by a knowledgeable professional.

• Ages 13–64: €36.00
• Ages 65+: €26.00

Getting There from the Gulbenkian Foundation

The Oceanarium is easily accessible by public transportation:

Option 1 – Metro (Recommended):

  • Walk to São Sebastião metro station (5 minutes)

  • Take the Red Line (Linha Vermelha) towards Aeroporto

  • Get off at Oriente station

  • Walk 10 minutes to the Oceanarium

Option 2 – Taxi or Ride-Share (Uber/Bolt):
Travel time: approximately 15–20 minutes (depending on traffic)
